Everybody Hug Now – Hug Marine Made My Day

Everybody Hug Now – Hug Marine Made My Day

E3 can get lost right now, I have found my new love. Hug Marine is a browser based platformer by C.Y. Reid. It is brilliant! It is a simple concept of working your way through a level, to some very funky music, to find a loveable little alien at the end…which you hug. I smiled and made a strange noise which can be best described as being an ‘awww that is so cute!’ noise. I’ve only completed the first level,…

The Best Of Free Online Gaming: Aion

Welcome to the series of articles that is to hopefully become a record of The Best Of Free Online Gaming*. We here at The Reticule know that not everyone has the spare cash to spend on every AAA or indie release, or to sign up to monthly payments for all the latest MMO’s. Trouble is, if you’re looking for some free gaming there are literally hundreds of games taking up the free-to-play structure nowadays and trawling through them all to…

Thoughts on Hitman: Sniper Challenge

Thoughts on Hitman: Sniper Challenge

Agent 47 is nearly back in his first fully fledged outing since Blood Money, but if you want to get a small taste of 47 action now you can play Sniper Challenge, the innovative pre-order bonus for Hitman: Absolution. I’ve been playing around with the sniper mini-game, and I am quite impressed with the ideas behind it.

Mod Spotlight – DayZ

Mod Spotlight – DayZ

I am running. Running for my life. With two bullets remaining and a pair of zombies hot on my tail, the likelihood of getting out of this one is slim to none. Besides, even if I do manage to score a pair of lucky headshots, I’ll then be out of ammo, out of food and with absolutely no idea where I am or which direction I’m going in. In short, I’m screwed. Welcome to DayZ.

Cockroach Inc’s ‘The Dream Machine’ Launches On Steam

Cockroach Inc’s ‘The Dream Machine’ Launches On Steam

May 11th saw the release of Cockroach Inc’s point and click adventure The Dream Machine on Steam. After seeing the original visual style of the game and hearing great reviews from friends I felt I had to give it a chance. I’m not usually one for point and click games but the appearance of the game drew me in and from there I discovered there was a lot more substance than I expected. The game comes in the form of…

Diablo 3 – My First Hour

Diablo 3 – My First Hour

I got my hands on Diablo 3 earlier today, around 3pm GMT, and unlike many, I installed and got into the game without any problems at all. I was quite surprised at the lack of problems considering the many issues that people were having in the early hours of launch, and are still having tonight according to what I am seeing on Twitter. So, in the peaceful British May afternoon, I got to spend about an hour with Diablo 3,…

Project CARS Hands On Preview

Project CARS is shaping up to be quite an impressive piece of work, both with the actual game, and the development process which uses the World of Mass Development (WMD) platform. In short, this is what has the potential to be one of the best racing games ever tied with one of the most innovative development methods there is.

Minecraft 360 – Impressions Of My First Twenty Minutes

Minecraft 360 – Impressions Of My First Twenty Minutes

I have just come back from spending twenty minutes with the just released Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition and I am pleased that I tried it. You see, I haven’t tried anything beyond the old browser based version of the game on the PC and I wasn’t overly keen on Terraria last Summer either. So to come away from a brief 20 minute play around with the tutorial, and to feel quite happy with what I played is a positive.

Wrack Preview

Wrack Preview

Do you remember the days when you could run backwards just as fast as you could forwards? When you were allowed to carry more than two weapons onto the battlefield? When plots could generally be summed up by the words ‘bad stuff’s gone down?’ Brad Carney, creator of Wrack certainly does, and he misses them.
