Grid 2 – Hands On

Grid 2 – Hands On

I had no idea what it was going to be like playing a modern racing game with a wheel and pedals until I hit Grid 2 at the Eurogamer Expo. The last time I did was in an ancient beat up SEGA Rally Arcade unit that was gathering dust in my University Students Union. So playing Codemasters’ next big racer with a full wheel and pedal setup was like walking on Mars to me, I didn’t have a clue how things were going to work.

To be honest, it didn’t really work; I spent more time smashing my Ford Mustang into pieces on various trees and rocks than actually driving smoothly on the road in the point-to-point race I was in. This was just one of the demo booths available for Grid 2, the other was a traditional two-lap race with a bunch of AI opponents and an Xbox 360 controller.

F1 2012 – The Verdict

F1 2012 – The Verdict

There comes a time where everyone feels the need for a little more excitement in their life, a little more danger. For me extreme sports are where I get my kicks, and nothing is more extreme than the high-speed and precision of Formula One. Lucky for me Codemasters have just released F1 2012, and at the touch of a button I can be in control of my very own powerfully tuned behemoth. That settles that then.

I’ve Got Two Words For Ya….SUCK IT!

I’ve Got Two Words For Ya….SUCK IT!

With that the crowd goes wild at the traditional calling card of D-Generation X, or DX, one of the biggest groups in the WWE during the Attitude era. It is only right then that THQ have released some new media showing off HHH and Shawn Michaels in all their glory (though I wonder where X-Pac, Billy Gunn and the Road Dogg are?) in a shameless act of promotion for WWE 13. I’m surprised that they haven’t appeared in a skit on RAW yet to sell the game as they usually do…Anyway, WWE 13 is sounding very promising, largely because of the Attitude Era mode where you will take part in many of the classic matches from that period in the wrestling business all the while unlocking various video clips and cinematic moments. You can see some more screens and a trailer after this convenient break.

Dishonored Gets Animated – The Tales from Dunwall

The Tales from Dunwall is a three part series of animated shorts which act as prequels to Dishonored by providing a background to the world of Dunwall, the city the dominates the game. The first part, called The Awakening can be viewed after the break. It is a lovely pieces of work with some hand-drawn scenes with a score by Daniel Licht from Dexter and narration by Kick Ass star Chloƫ Grace Mortez.

Dishonored – Final Developer Diary

Dishonored – Final Developer Diary

The final developer diary for Dishonored has been released and is available for your viewing pleasure after the break. Called ‘End Game’ this dev diary sees Arkane Studios reflect on the journey they have taken with the game. It isn’t as long as some of the others, but it is still worth a watch.

Dishonored – Two More Developer Diaries

Dishonored – Two More Developer Diaries

The developer diaries for Dishonored are really intriguing, they are revealling a lot about how the team at Arkane perceive the game and how they think people might play it. In addition, there is a hell of a lot of new game footage which is well worth checking out. The first video is called Immersion and the second one Experience, see them after the jump.

F1 2012 Hands On First Impressions

F1 2012 Hands On First Impressions

Being a fan of Formula One and wanting to play a F1 game are two entirely different things. In my opinion the games that I have seen in the past haven’t delivered the excitement and tension I get when watching the races on TV, and don’t convey the same feel of complete precision and total control that the drivers have over their extremely powerful cars. That is until now.
