Dishonored Developer Diary – Inception

Dishonored Developer Diary – Inception

How many times will we talk about Dishonored in some way before release? I would hazard a guess that it will be quite a few more times, especially when we get such amazing insights into the game as seen in the first developer diary entitled Inception. You can watch the video after the jump, it features a number of developers from Arkane talking about difference aspects of the title, and it shows a heap of new in-game footage. Worth a look.

Far Cry 3 – The RPG Trailer

Far Cry 3 – The RPG Trailer

Watch out for big cats in game.

The more we see and hear about Far Cry 3, the more I am convinced that it is a meeting of FPS and RPG. Just take this latest trailer which you can find embedded below, it talks about side-missions, crafting and hunting wild animals. If they aren’t RPG-like elements, I don’t know what are. The current console generation might be drawing to a close, but there are some massive titles to come out still, and Far Cry 3 is certainly one of them.

Legate: Lanius – The Rise and Fallout?

Legate: Lanius – The Rise and Fallout?

Game fans are wonderfully creative people. As a community, we constantly see costumes and theatre, weapon replicas, game-inspired fashion, original and covered game songs, fan-art and fan-fiction. Every now and again a short film will come around with results varying from “Huh, kinda cool,” and “Holy cow, so… so beautiful *sniff*”. A director glorying in the name Wade K. Savage has built a team of experienced film-makers and is asking for $10,000 to make Legate: Lanius, a short telling the story of…

Dust 514 Beta Impressions

Dust 514 Beta Impressions

I have had the pleasure of taking part in the beta for Dust 514 over the past couple of weeks, the PlayStation 3 shooter which is tied in with the EVE Online universe and which will one day see co-operation between players from both titles. It is a very exciting idea, but one that is clearly going to take a while to come to completion. The beta for Dust is very much that, an early version of the game which is undergoing many changes and updates as it progresses. As such, these are just some early impressions of a still relatively low-level grunt.

The idea behind Dust is brilliant in that whatever happens in Eve impacts on Dust as they share the same universe. I can only assume this means that all the Alliances and Corps found in the PC title will eventually be found in Dust, and that the economies of both will be interlinked with chaos in one game causing chaos in the other. If everything works out, developers CCP could be onto a major winner. Though I do wonder what will happen when the PlayStation 4 eventually gets announced and released, will Dust just transfer over there leaving the PS3 version behind? These are questions for another time though.

Visit Bloody Hong Kong! Sleeping Dogs Demo Available

Visit Bloody Hong Kong! Sleeping Dogs Demo Available

Sleeping Dogs has been out for a week now and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Now you can experience a slice of Hong Kong for free with bites of kick-ass kung fu and rather more mediocre gunplay picked out from the full experience and slammed together into a demo. It is available on PC (via Steam), Xbox 360 and PS3. What more is there to say? … No, nothing. Go, play, check it out.

Taking A Turn For The Weird: New Dishonored Screens

Taking A Turn For The Weird: New Dishonored Screens

It was always clear that the city of Dunwall is a cesspit of filth and corruption and not a little blood. Until now, screenshots and videos have only scratched the surface with their rats and tired-eyed prostitutes. Here we have some signs of the true madness in the heart of Dishonored, after the jump.

Global Offensive is GO GO GO!

Global Offensive is GO GO GO!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive officially left beta an hour or so ago on Steam after a lengthy beta period and it will be coming to PSN and Xbox Live tonight and tomorrow morning. Valve have released a chunk of data from the beta in a handy infographic which you can see after the break. It reveals some unsurprising data such as the two Dust maps proving to be extremely popular, and some surprising with the Arms Race and Demolition modes making up over 20% of rounds played during the beta. Valve are still working towards the release of the Map Workshop, and of course, the Zombie Mod. We will have a review with you as soon as we can.

The new edition will also be getting a console release along with the usual PC release. Exciting times for farming sim fans indeed.
