(Not So) Breaking News – Lichenstein Cup in Football Manager 2014

(Not So) Breaking News – Lichenstein Cup in Football Manager 2014

The trouble with working six days a week and running a games website is that it is so easy to miss a massive bit of headline news. It saddens me to say then that I missed a tweet last Monday from Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson which revealed a massive bit of news about Football Manager 2014:
The Liechtenstein Cup added to the game in the Swiss football calendar.

Ubisoft Show off Their Love of Tattoos – Black Flag Trailer

Ubisoft Show off Their Love of Tattoos – Black Flag Trailer

There is a theme that I am starting to notice from Ubisoft with some of their biggest franchises, open world and tattoos. Far Cry 3 was all about the tattoos and judging by the latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, Captain Kenway has been given the same love of body art. There isn’t much new in this trailer, but it is being called the ‘TV Spot’, I’d rather call it the Tattoo Trailer. Find it after the break.

Football Manager 2014 – The Classic Mode Video

Football Manager 2014 – The Classic Mode Video

I’m a purist full-fat fan when it comes to Football Manager, I need the proper no-holds barred Career experience. I appreciate that the depth of this isn’t for everyone which is why I was pleased to see the introduction of the Classic mode in last years game. Have no fear, the Classic mode is back for 2014 and you can find all the details in the latest video diary from Sports Interactive head honcho, Miles Jacobson after the break.

Black Flag – The Robbers Trailer and Release Dates Confirmed

Black Flag – The Robbers Trailer and Release Dates Confirmed

A new trailer for the most piratey of games, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag has launched profiling various members of Captain Kenway’s crew of robbers. Well, the trailer is called ‘The Pirate Heist Trailer’ so I think that is an apt description. Blackbeard, Calcio Jack and Anne Bonny all make an appearance with some swashbuckling catchphrases. After my adventures with the game at Eurogamer I am certainly starting to look forward to this one now.

Sean Bean is a Rail Fan

Sean Bean is a Rail Fan

Best thing I’ve seen today is the video after the break featuring Sean Bean (aka Ned Stark, aka Boromir, aka Sharpe) narrating a trailer for Train Simulator 2014 in a #WeAreRailFans promotional campaign. You can find all the campaign details right here ahead of tomorrow’s launch of the newest version of the simulator.

EU IV Gets a Massive Update

EU IV Gets a Massive Update

I’ve been getting ever further involved in Europa Universalis IV over recent weeks thanks to some fantastic multiplayer matches with friend of The Reticule, Craig Lager. This really is a brilliantly deep game, and one that I am determined to deliver a Verdict on soon. For now though, I will have to play some more as Paradox Interactive have just released a hefty patch for this most grand of grand strategy games.

Valve Announce the SteamOS

Valve Announce the SteamOS

Valve have made their first reveal of the week and it is a bit more all encompassing than I for one first thought. I was expecting simply a reveal of the Steam Box today, instead we have received word of SteamOS, Valve’s foray into replacing Windows and Mac on what is a Linux based system. There is bound to be a lot to take in from the next two announcements (next coming Wednesday) over this week, so you can find a brief run-down after the break.

Trains and Trucks – Simulation Videos Galore

Trains and Trucks – Simulation Videos Galore

It is an exciting time to be a simulation game fan. Mega-trucking game European Truck Simulator 2 saw its first piece of DLC, Going East! release on Friday while Train Simulator 2014 is coming out on the 26th. They’re both looking very good and there are some lovely videos of them both after the break.
