Warlock: Master of the Arcane – Release Trailer

Warlock: Master of the Arcane – Release Trailer

Warlock: Master of the Arcane has been released today, and it comes along with the above, rather bizarre launch trailer. I’ve had a little dabble in the game, and I must say it is quite enjoyable, it is a high fantasy take on the Civilisation style of turn-based strategy.

It is very quick and easy to get into, within ten minutes of playing I was busy building up an army of skeletons to attack the goblin armies led by one of my opposing Warlocks, raining down fireballs and other spells on his units and cities. I may not actually play much of Warlock myself, but it seems quite a well polished and amusing game. You can grab a demo from its Steam page.

Wrack Preview

Do you remember the days when you could run backwards just as fast as you could forwards? When you were allowed to carry more than two weapons onto the battlefield? When plots could generally be summed up by the words ‘bad stuff’s gone down?’ Brad Carney, creator of Wrack certainly does, and he misses them.

Xenonauts Hits Kickstarter With New Demo

Xenonauts Hits Kickstarter With New Demo

Chris England’s spiritual successor to X-com, Xenonauts is nearing completion and has the funding from pre-orders to get released on Steam and Desura. However, in order to maximise the potential of the game Chris has launched a Kickstarter with a goal of raising $50,000 by June 10th. In his own words, Chris says “We’re hoping that the Kickstarter will raise enough money that we can pull together a small full-time team in London, and will give us the financial breathing space to be able to make something really special”.

Company of Heroes 2 Confirmed – Release 2013

The rumours have been swirling around the internet over the past few days, but earlier today THQ formally announced Company of Heroes 2 for release in early 2013. The original was one of the most innovative RTS titles of the past decade, and still ranks as one of my favourite strategy games. The sequel will take players to the Eastern Front of World War Two, and judging from the first image to be released, it will feature plenty of snow….
