Our Week in Games – Week 56
It has been a hectic weekend finally actually moving my PC and starting to live in my flat. Not a long intro at all this Week, so let us see what Our Week in Games has been…
It has been a hectic weekend finally actually moving my PC and starting to live in my flat. Not a long intro at all this Week, so let us see what Our Week in Games has been…
It is time for more of Our Week in Games as the football transfer window approaches last orders, the kids get ready to go back to school and the end of year big hitting games get ever closer to launch. That’s right, we are now in September, a month where we will see Rome II and Grand Theft Auto V launch. You can see the latest GTA trailer after the break before we get down to business.
After the special edition of Our Week in Games last week we are back to our normal service with tales of conquest, rebellions and more. Gamescom has come and gone in the meantime with a PS4 release date and news that if you pre-order the Xbone you will get FIFA for free. What else has caught your eye?
It is the 52nd edition of Our Week in Games and this one is a bit special purely because it marks a years worth of doing this thing. While our first edition of Our Week in Games hit in July last year, we took some time out for Our Year in Games last December. Today though, we try to talk about a few different things to just what we have been playing last week, there are some good stories to be told this week. It was a struggle to choose an image to go at the top of this post, but it is fitting when you think about how this past year or so has gone. Enjoy.
On Friday I completed the purchase of a lovely two-bed flat in Cardiff. It has been a long process, dragging its heels since January, but in the week ahead I get to play Sims in my own home. Just maybe without the whole locking your enemy in a room with no doors, windows or food until the Reaper comes for them. I can’t wait, but in the meantime why not take a read of what Week 51 of Our Week in Games held in store.
It is a bit late in the day for this, but here we are once again for Our Week in Games. We are getting ever closer to Week 52 when we will have some special words to share about the past years worth of Our Week in Games. For now, Kevin is talking about his Steam backlog, Nick has ever more great Kerbal Space Program goodness and Jon has some choice words about spiders. All this, and more trucking in the 50th edition of Our Week in Games.
Another week goes by and we get ever closer to the one year mark of Our Week in Games, time sure has gone by quite quickly since then. I think one of my favourite ongoing parts of Our Week in Games has been Nick’s tales of his adventures in Kerbal Space Program, they have been thoroughly enjoyable. We’ll have a proper look back over the past year when we hit Week 52. For now, hit the break for some trucking…
By the time you read this, you will know whether a great British sporting weekend has become complete. With the Lions having won Down Under, Chris Froome winning the Yellow Jersey we are waiting on Lewis Hamilton in the German Grand Prix and Andy Murray at Wimbledon. Oh and the Ashes start this week as well. Who needs football eh? Find out in Our Week in Games who does.
We are entering the sport season of the summer with the Lions Tour well under way down under, Wimbledon in full flow and of course, the Tour de France has just started. Who needs sport though when we have games like Kerbal Space Program where you can land Kerbal’s on a Mun. On with Our Week in Games then.
Earlier today I was at a the Rezzed PC and Indie Game Show in Birmingham with Nick having a grand old time and now I am home having finished writing this piece about my grand old time. There were plenty of games on show with a small number of AAA titles like Company of Heroes 2 and Planetside 2 making appearances alongside indie titles like Democracy 3 and Beatbuddy. After the break you will find a brief report before some more detailed thoughts on various titles over the coming weeks.
