It emerged at the end of last week that 38 Studios’ upcoming RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was going to include an “online pass” which was required to gain access to the House of Valor quest line. This revelation caused a wave of fury and consternation amongst those who had taken an interest in the title. “An online pass, for a singleplayer game? How hideous!” they cried, but all is not as it seems.
I’m a few months late to the party, but I have just completed RAGE, and I don’t think I have ever felt quite so let down by a game ending. I am really disappointed with how iD Software approached the ending of the game, it feels like they just gave up when they got to that last level. Spoilers abound after the jump.
Freddie Prinze Jr. has been confirmed as the voice actor for Mass Effect 3‘s new character James Vega. In the video he talks about his real life inspirations for the character and his love for the series of Mass Effect, of which he seems a genuine fan.
He joins a host of stars who have signed up to do voice acting for Mass Effect 3 including: Seth Green, Adam Baldwin, Martin Sheen and Carrie-Anne Moss. The video shows lots of new footage from the upcoming Mass Effect 3 release but don’t worry, no spoilers.
We are big fans of Trials here at The Reticule, be it the PC version, or the later Xbox Live Arcade version, which if I am honest, absolutely blew me away when I first played it a couple of weeks ago. This new video from the latest Inside Xbox shows off RedLynx’s new title, Trials Evolution which is looking absolutely stunning. The multiplayer races, and the track editor are going to be highlights of this new title. I can’t wait to get hands on with it when RedLynx release it.

My interest was certainly piqued when you consider the relatively consequence free nature of the original Bioshock thanks to those ever controversial Vita Chambers.
In case you haven’t heard of these guys before Walls 360 are a Las Vegas based company that have been creating amazing wall graphics for a few years now. Among other things they have created some great Battlefield 3 and Tetris art up to a giant 6 foot in height and have just released a new batch of Mass Effect 3 graphics for you to drool over. Whether you’re a huge fan of Commander Shepard and can’t wait to get a print in your room or you just fancy giving your neighbours a scare from your front door or garden fence, you’ll have to agree that these graphics look awesome and very tempting.
Bioware have announced on their forums that, just like Battlefield 3, any physical or digital copies of Mass Effect 3 on the PC must use EA’s Origin service in order to run. A FAQ has been released answering a few interesting points including problems they have encountered with selling through Steam.
