Cliff Harris of Positech Games (think Democracy and Gratuitous Space Battles) fame has been busy working on his new game for quite a while in the background while working on the publishing behind Political Animals and Big Pharma. The new game is Production Line, and Cliff has just confirmed that pre-orders are open with Alpha access the treat at the end of the tunnel.
Imagine my surprise when I logged into Steam, only to find that my brother had been playing Evolve. This surprise was further compounded when I saw it was in my library. The penny then dropped; I wasn’t special, or chosen….it was simply an open Alpha. Jump to the cut to find my thoughts on the game as it is.
Back in February I had a little play around with the alpha for Ambient Studios plague simulator, Death Inc. They had been running a Kickstarter campaign which sadly failed to reach its target. Things seemed glum for the game, but fortunately the team have set a release date for November and have opened up pre-orders on their site.
This week Bohemia finally acquiesced to my demands and began the Alpha test for ArmA 3. For the measly price of £20, you can now buy access to an early release build of ArmA 3 from either Steam or the Bohemia store. The alpha is an incomplete version of the game, featuring a small selection of the weapons, units and vehicles you’ll be able to get to grips with in ArmA 3.
