A new free-to-play MMOFPS has entered the arena, this one is known as Heroes & Generals and has a World War Two setting. It promises to allow gamers to play in two distinct fashions, the Hero side of things is first-person combat featuring ground, armoured and air combat along with a strategic layer with the Gnerals. The Generals will apparently determine the strategic direction of the war and manage reinforcements and battlefield assets.
It is not often that a trailer for a videogame makes me immediately think of wrestling, but this latest trailer for Tomb Raider certainly does. It features a group of people making comments as if they are Lara interspersed with clips from the game. I immediately imagined this could be used as a promo video in the WWE to advertise a major PPV with various wrestlers talking about their upcoming match with clips highlighting the feud they are currently involved in.
Or am I just a bit mad?
After the wonderfully crafted trailer for BioShock Infinite that we saw earlier this week comes a more traditional video featuring a whole heap of in-game footage. This video certainly feels a lot closer to the original title than anything else I have seen, but part of me also senses a little bit of Dishonored creeping into things. The highlight of the trailer has to be Elizabeth opening up one of her time rifts. Check it out after the break.
Upcoming free-to-play shooter based on CryEngine3, Warface has a new trailer which you can watch after the break, a video which fortunately doesn’t involve any dubstep. It shows of a nice bit o action, but from how they have done the trailer it doesn’t look too different from a Call of Duty or Battlefield. I don’t think the trailer does the game justice, when I gave it a quick whirl at the Eurogamer Expo last year I came away feeling quietly positive. Warface has recently entered closed beta, if we get access here at Reticule Towers we will be sure to bring word of how the game is shaping up.
With SimCity causing some concerns about horrendous DRM, some people might be pleased to learn that there is an alternative city building title coming out this February. Imaginatively called City Builder you will follow construction orders from the city Mayor by hiring and firing building crews to create the structures that will bring the city to life. As I take a few minutes away from Far Cry 3 I see an email about a new video for the tropical shooter showing off some wild action along with numerous machete based takedowns and some C4 loaded hang-gliders. A new trailer has been released for F1 Race Stars and it shows off some truly wild and wacky looking tracks waiting to be raced all over. It looks extremely fun and shows off much more than what I saw when I went hands on. I maintain that it will be more of a party game than a singleplayer game, and the trailer seems to support my idea showing off some great looking split screen action. Check it out after the break.

The SimCity franchise has a long, well established history on the PC stretching back to the original title back in 1989 with the last main game in the series, SimCity 4 being released back in 2003. Some of the best moments of those classic games came with the massive destructive events that would cause devastation in your cities. It is good to see that EA remember the heritage of the games as they have released a trailer showing off some of the disasters which will be present in the new game when it is released next year.
