Twisted Pixel Talk Ms Splosion Man, The Gunstringer and More

Since 2009, the folks at Texas based developer Twisted Pixel have been responsible for some of Xbox Live Arcade’s very best games, not to mention the funniest; from the babbling lunacy of ‘Splosion Man to the fourth wall-breaking misadventures of Captain Smiley. Recently I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to fire some questions at the guys at Twisted Pixel and level designer Alex Jones was only too happy to answer. What makes Twisted Pixel tick? What’s the deal…

The Legends of Shift 2

The Legends of Shift 2

I’ve been rekindling my love for racing games recently, a bit of Wipeout here, Burnout there, but mainly a whole heap of Shift 2. The reason I have been getting back into Shift 2 is the Legends Pack, a piece of DLC which has really kicked the game up a gear in my eyes.

Ms. Splosion Man – The Verdict

Ms. Splosion Man – The Verdict

I openly admit that I have quite the soft spot for Twisted Pixel. Since 2009, they’ve released a handful of games over Xbox Live Arcade that have not only proven that the Texas based developer has an indisputable aptitude for creating inventive and laugh-out-loud funny games, but also that it’s possible for an entertaining and worthwhile game to be developed on a small budget; a mega-franchise like Call of Duty might pull billions of dollars in Activision’s direction with its’…

Far Cry 3 – Alternative E3 Trailer

Far Cry 3 – Alternative E3 Trailer

Far Cry 3 received a bloody good showing at E3, while it failed to match Battlefield 3 in my eyes, it received a very strong showing. Ubisoft obviously wanted to show off more and in the trailer below, you can see their alternative take on the original E3 showing.

F.3.A.R – The Verdict

F.3.A.R – The Verdict

Ah yes, F.3.A.R: another victim of the numerical title plague that Driv3r instigated. I have suppressed the persistent desire to burn all games that adopt this technique for far too long; making it quite likely that F3.A.R, too, would suffer this fate if it turned out to be bad. Fortunately for my sake, and also that of the environment, my concerns were unfounded. This game is quite good. I will, however, refuse to call it ‘F.3.A.R’ from this point on.
