I oft find myself decrying the use of announcements of announcements, and teaser trailers for game reveals. They seem so pointless…but then there is this Far Cry 3 trailer designed to build the anticipation for the Ubisoft press conference at E3, a trailer which in itself is brilliant and underlines why I think the game is going to be an all out smash. We are told we will ‘Experience the new reveal’ at E3 next week, I hope it matches the madness on offer in this tease.
Trials 2: Second Edition was one of the hit PC indie titles of 2008, and still ranks as one of my favourite games of the past few years. When its Xbox Live sequel, Trials HD launched one year later, the series exploded into life with masses of new fans. It should come as no surprise then to realise that the latest game from RedLynx, Trials Evolution is another masterpiece.
Max Payne 3 has been a long time coming, and this caused some concern for me. Given that almost a decade has passed since Max Payne 2, accompanied by a change of development team, I was initially apprehensive as to whether Max’s third outing would hold my attention in the same way as its predecessors. As it turns out, though, I needn’t have worried.
This gorgeous video is the launch trailer for the new Porsche themed expansion pack for Forza 4 which goes live today, and unlike the usual monthly Car Packs which feature a handful of new wheels, this expansion features 30 new Porsche’s to drive along with 20 new themed career events. It all sounds like my cup of tea, it is just a shame it isn’t live on the Forza 4 Marketplace just yet.

Hitman: Sniper Challenge is an innovative new pre-order bonus for Hitman: Absolution, it is its very own standalone singleplayer mini-game, and it is now available to play for anyone who has pre-ordered the game. There is a trailer after the break, but in brief, Sniper Challenge puts you in the shoes of Agent 47 with the task of eliminating a high roller and his bodyguards in a fifteen minute time frame. Leaderboards and bonus content in the final game are also promised. It is quite an innovative idea to let people play such a mini-game as a pre-order incentive, especially one this far away from the November launch of Absolution. Anyone taking a look at this, or are we all too busy playing Diablo III and the DayZ mod?
There are two things that are immediately clear playing Ridge Racer Unbounded. The first, is that this is no ordinary Ridge Racer game. The second, is that it’s the best game in the series since the original Ridge Racer revolutionised the arcade racing genre way back in 1994.
I have just come back from spending twenty minutes with the just released Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition and I am pleased that I tried it. You see, I haven’t tried anything beyond the old browser based version of the game on the PC and I wasn’t overly keen on Terraria last Summer either. So to come away from a brief 20 minute play around with the tutorial, and to feel quite happy with what I played is a positive.
Originally established as an October arrival, Ken Levine has stated in an official 2k press release that the highly anticipated BioShock Infinite is being pushed back until February 26th, 2013, and confirmed that the game won’t be featured at E3 or GamesCon in order to put all efforts towards development. Personally I am of course a little sad that they had to delay it, but an early announcement is a far better approach than waiting until the deadline is snapping at their heels. Can’t wait….
