So, Grand Theft Auto V…
There was a massive surprise announcement today from Rockstar that there will be a trailer for Grand Theft Auto V on the 2nd of November. My first thought? ‘Oh, righty then…’

Live Action trailers are certainly a strange thing to see for a game, and if I am frank I don’t quite understand why they are done. For one, the above Skyrim trailer looks more like a trailer for Game of Thrones than a game, then is promptly ruined by the giganto-fake dragon at the end. Below the jump is the Battlefield 3 trailer.
Poor Orcs. They get abused so much in many games, and none moreso than in Orcs Must Die!. They get squished, set on fire, chopped, smashed, frozen, thrown into goo and generally abused to the nth degree. But when it’s this much fun, even the NSPCO (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Orcs) will probably have a great time with this Steam and XBLA title.
With apologies to Sony and the fine folks at the ever talented Naughty Dog, we’ve just realised that the upcoming Uncharted 3 hasn’t been mentioned on the site for something like four months. Let it not be said that Uncharted 3 is a game that is not coming out soon. In fact, the truth is quite the contrary: Uncharted 3 is very much a game that is coming out soon. In under a fortnight to be precise.
Two months on from Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the dust has settled. Wisely pre-empting the ‘every man for himself’ nature of the autumn shooter season, Human Revolution is now a game rapidly depreciating in price that is still very much worthy of its Reticule Red Mist review. And it wouldn’t be a modern action game if there wasn’t a healthy dose of DLC to make up the ‘then and now’ difference in retail price. To wit: The Missing Link.
My lord, just take a look at this trailer for Battlefield 3, it is quite immense. Guns, planes, tanks and a sneak peak at Strike at Karkand at the end.
One wonders how many Sonic fans and detractors were made twenty years ago when the original Green Hill Zone blast-processed its way onto their screens. Sonic the Hedgehog was certainly a game that flashed its knickers in its opening moments: showcasing the speed of its engine, its gameplay and the potential beauty of its levels. In fact, whilst the subsequent levels offered a far more thoughtful platforming experience, they had nothing like the same visual flair. The Green Hill Zone…
If you own a Kinect, I implore you to go out and buy The Gunstringer to experience what is truly a majestic game. I don’t use my Kinect often due to the constraints imposed by requiring a certain amount of floor space, but The Gunstringer makes the effort of moving my Xbox into another room entirely worth it. The best bit? This is a game which makes perfect sense to be used with Kinect, it hasn’t been shoe horned in…
The wondrous sound of ball striking bat is one which any cricket fan will be familiar with and is one that instantly made me want to play more of International Cricket Captain 2011. Yes, this is a cricket management game and it is quite pleasant.
EA have brought together some stats from the recent open beta for Battlefield 3 at put them into a lovely little image which you can see above. Over 8 million people took part in the beta, quite impressive if I say so myself. Click on the image to see it full size.
