All New Watch Dogs Trailer Reveals Release Date

All New Watch Dogs Trailer Reveals Release Date

Somehow, in my preview of 2014 I managed to leave Watch Dogs of the list, though that does show the strength of some of the exciting games coming out this year. Despite it not quite making the list, I am still looking forward to the open-world hackathon from Ubisoft, even more now that is has a release date. The 27th May is that day, and Ubisoft released a new trailer to celebrate the announcement. Check it out below.

Early Access – Divinity: Original Sin

Early Access – Divinity: Original Sin

Isometric turn-based RPGs aren’t normally my cup of tea, but I had heard good things about Divinity: Original Sin and having been a quiet fan of Divinity II: Ego Draconis I decided to check the game out through Steam’s Early Access. You can count me as pleasantly surprised and very keen to see what else the game will have to offer as it goes through development.

Our Week in Games – Week 72

Our Week in Games – Week 72

I’m struggling with an introduction this week, after Microsoft announced their massive price-cut it seems like the industry has been fairly quiet away from the whole Twitch plays Pokemon Red hooha. I’m sure there are many other wonderful things taking place on Twitch that haven’t been publicised as much, but that surely shows how our gaming medium is expanding into new territory. If you aren’t streaming anything right now, hit the break to find out what we have been playing in the latest Our Week in Games.

Our Week in Games – Week 71

Games journalism is moving forward and breaking new ground with prominent figures such as Matt Lees and Cara Ellison use Patreon to crowd-fund support for exploring new avenues. Matt looks to be branching into doing YouTube on his own terms while Cara is travelling and getting into embedded journalism with indies. And then of course we get articles which spend the first half talking about how to breathe. I won’t link to that, save to say I didn’t see the point. The question is, what can we do here at Reticule Towers to give you what you want. Let us know in the comments.

On a less serious note, lets get on with Our Week in Games.

A Red Dragon Playing Wargames!

A Red Dragon Playing Wargames!

Before you wonder, the Red Dragon of the title to this post has nothing to do with Wales, rather I am talking about Wargame Red Dragon which is the upcoming chapter in what has been a pretty massive RTS series. Red Dragon follows from European Escalation and AirLand Battle by moving the conflict into Asia with an expanded focus on naval warfare and a new dynamic campaign. Lo-and-behold, we even have the new video after the break.

A Thief Launch Trailer Sneaks into View

A Thief Launch Trailer Sneaks into View

Something will be sneaking around gaming world next Friday, something dark and mysterious. It goes by the name Thief.

The reboot of the legendary series might not be out until next week, but there is already a launch trailer. I find it odd when launch trailers come out so far away from release, but that’s the way of the business. Hit the jump to see the trailer.

New* Volume Screenshots

New* Volume Screenshots

Can something be called new if it is from four days ago? Seeing as they are new to being posted on The Reticule, I would deem these screenshots of Volume as worth of the ‘New’ headline. Volume is the upcoming title from Mike Bithell who made Head Shot worthy Thomas Was Alone.

Our Week in Games – Week 70

Our Week in Games – Week 70

What’s happened this week in the gaming world? Oh yes, the beta for Titanfall has started, the conjecture on Twitter is that people have been going slightly mad trying to get access. Apparently some people have been buying codes on eBay for ludicrous prices. Valve took the brave step in allowing people to add tags to games which might have resulted in the expected nonsense. Meanwhile Kevin Spacey returned with House of Cards on Netflix which makes me wonder why can’t we get more games with episodic story-telling to equal The Walking Dead episodes?

Enough of that, on with the games.

Our Week in Games – Week 69

Our Week in Games – Week 69

The latest outrage in the games industry lies with the rebirth of a seminal favourite, Dungeon Keeper. EA released a new mobile version of the game this months using the now commonplace free-to-play philosophy. Their free-to-play methods seem to have done down like a paid of concrete boots with gamers, even the BBC picked up on the outrage. I haven’t played this monstrous, evil game yet…but my impression of mobile games like this is that you flick on once or twice during a day and have a quick blast before switching to something else. If you play like that, surely the in-app purchases aren’t such a big deal? But maybe that is just me wanting to play devil’s advocate as usual.

On a less controversial note, why not hit the break to check out our latest version of Our Week in Games.
