This week has been filled with emails concerning release dates for a number of indie titles. It is always good to see indie’s getting released, though with the ever increasing number of games hitting platforms such as Humble Bundle and Steam, it is a wonder any of them actually get played, even if they are purchased for bargain basement prices. After turning on Steam the other day, I took at look at the list of current downloads and spotted Euro Truck Simulator 2 busy downloading an update. I sadly haven’t been able to play this engrossing game much since moving into my flat, but I wanted to keep up to date with the latest goings on and so, I headed over to the SCS Software blog. So now, I can bring you an update on the latest goings on, just take a look below the line.

It is an exciting time to be a simulation game fan. Mega-trucking game European Truck Simulator 2 saw its first piece of DLC, Going East! release on Friday while Train Simulator 2014 is coming out on the 26th. They’re both looking very good and there are some lovely videos of them both after the break.
It is the 52nd edition of Our Week in Games and this one is a bit special purely because it marks a years worth of doing this thing. While our first edition of Our Week in Games hit in July last year, we took some time out for Our Year in Games last December. Today though, we try to talk about a few different things to just what we have been playing last week, there are some good stories to be told this week. It was a struggle to choose an image to go at the top of this post, but it is fitting when you think about how this past year or so has gone. Enjoy.
The guys over at SCS Software have confirmed the name and a host of images for their upcoming DLC pack for European Truck Simulator 2. The DLC pack which has just entered the final stages of Beta testing will be known as Going East and will feature a massive expansion of roads and cities in Eastern Europe.
Slow-burn underground hit, European Truck Simulator 2, still sitting in the Top 20 sellers on Steam is going to be receiving an Eastern European themed DLC pack in the coming months. The map expansion will have a strong focus on Poland, a country in which developers SCS Software have seen great success and support.
The team at SCS have released a bunch of early images of some of the cities that will feature in the expansion, and they look a lot more detailed than the locations that can be explored in the base game. You can check the out, along with a map of the expanded road network after the break.
Great news arrives from Steam as Euro Truck Simulator 2 has finally arrived on the store for the introductory price of £22.49, a 10% saving on the standard £24.99 price. The trucking game is also sitting top of the Top Sellers list on Steam, a great achievement for such a niche product. If you bought the game at retail, you can also activate your retail CD Key on Steam to access the title through Valve’s network. As ever, it is great to see titles from Greenlight appearing for sale on Steam.
