Wii U Release Date And More Confirmed
Earlier this afternoon Nintendo revealed a massive heap of information about the European release of the Wii U during their Nintendo Direct presentation. The big take away message is that the Wii U will be releasing in Europe on the 30th November. There will be two distinct bundles on offer, a basic and a premium package. Hit the jump for more details.
It must be noted that Nintendo haven’t announced any prices for the console, and as you can see on SavyGamer a lot of retailers are offering a wide variety of different prices for the two versions of the device. The consensus seems to be that the basic package will be retailing around the £220-240 mark with the premium bundle pushing towards the £260-280 area. I wouldn’t be surprised to see these prices alter massively over the next few weeks as shops and sites try to secure as many pre-orders as possible without stripping away their profit margin on the machine.
The Wii U Basic Pack as it is being officially called comes with an 8GB console and a GamePad, both in white. The Premium Pack contains a black console and GamePad, this machine has 32GB of internal storage. The Premium Pack will also come with a stand for the GamePad and console, a charging cradle for the GamePad, a sensor bar and the Nintendo Land software. It must also be noted that both packages come with a HDMI cable and AC adaptors for the console and GamePad.
Nintendo are also going to launch a reward programme with the Premium Package known as Nintendo Network Premium which will grant points for purchases on Nintendo’s eShop. These points are valued at 10% of the original eShop price, and you will be able to redeem your credit against future purchases when you reach 500 points.
It has also been revealed that Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 from Platinum Games will be exclusive to the console, in addition Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate will be hitting both the Wii U and 3DS before the end of March 2013.
The following titles will be available on release day:
-
New Super Mario Bros. U
Nintendo Land
FIFA 13
ZombiU
Rayman Legends
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Mass Effect 3
