E3 From the UK – Nintendo, I Still Want a Wii U

E3 might be over, but that doesn’t meant our coverage is done and dusted as right here, right now, I take on the might of Nintendo. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo didn’t hold a massive conference in Los Angeles, instead they delivered another Nintendo Direct presentation.

Skylanders Swap Force Eyes Up Toy Market

Skylanders Swap Force Eyes Up Toy Market

Guest writer Andy Robertson takes a look at the upcoming third installment of the Skylanders series; Swap Force. The toy/game hybrid has seen growing popularity recently and the genre will soon expand with Disney Infinity.

Skylanders Swap Force is the third iteration in the franchise and works hard to overcome its perceived shortcomings. Not only are there new adventures for your old characters (toys) but it also adds an impressive 56 new figures. These take the form of 16 Swap Force, 16 Core, 16 Series 3 and 8 Lightcore characters.

Tomorrow Corp. Talk Little Inferno

Tomorrow Corp. Talk Little Inferno

There is one game amongst the IGF Grand Finalists that is not like the others, that game is Little Inferno, the only one of the titles up for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize: that has been released on a console. It is also the only one that was developed by a corporation, more specifically, Tomorrow Corporation. The indie studio is comprised of Allan Blmoquist, Kyle Gabler and Kyle Gray. I managed to bribe their PR company enough goo balls to pose the trio some questions about the game, the Wii U launch and their plans going forward. All of this after the break.

Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails – A Wii U Exclusive Indie Coming This Year

Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails – A Wii U Exclusive Indie Coming This Year

Big news for Wii U owners (sadly not me quite yet), while Rayman Legends is no longer an exclusive and has been delayed, there will be at least one third-party game coming exclusively to Nintendo’s platform sometime this year. The game will be known as Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails and comes from Welsh indie studio Dakko Dakko.

The team haven’t revealed any in-game media, but Eurogamer have a lengthy interview with Dakko Dakko founder Rhodri Broadbent over here. Wii U, indie, Welsh, crazy game name? This might be a winner.

Rayman Legends delayed, goes multiplatform

Rayman Legends delayed, goes multiplatform

It’s been revealed that one of the most anticipated Wii U exclusives, Rayman Legends, will no longer feature only on the Nintendo console and will now be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. In addition, the sequel to 2011’s sublime Rayman Origins (which was also released on multiple platforms) was intended to be released at the end of February but has now been delayed until September.
