E3 From the UK – Sony On Top…But Only For Now?

E3 From the UK – Sony On Top…But Only For Now?

£349 and out before Christmas. With that, some might say the console war has been settled and that Sony have hands-down “won” E3 and deserve all the plaudits they are getting. But there are a few things which just slightly knock the gloss off Sony’s newly angular PlayStation 4. Take a journey through some musings on where problems might arise after the break.

Bohemia Interactive Unveil Take On Mars

Bohemia Interactive Unveil Take On Mars

Today Bohemia Interactive, creators of the ArmA series of military simulations, announced their next installment in the Take On series of simulators. Following their 1985 pop sensation and their helicopter sim in 2011, I’ve been eager to see where the series would be going next. Where do you go after helicopters, I ask? Apparently, the answer is Mars.

E3 From the UK – A Quick Look at EA and Ubisoft Presentations

E3 From the UK – A Quick Look at EA and Ubisoft Presentations

I didn’t watch the conferences from EA or Ubisoft live, I followed them on Twitter while watching Game of Thrones and Banshee. However much I love games, I do sometimes wonder whether they will ever quite match the story-telling and action found in shows from studios like HBO. Certainly nothing I’ve seen from E3 so far leads me to think we are entering a truly new generation of games, more that the consoles are finally catching up with the power found on PCs for a few years now. Despite this negative view, a few bits grabbed my attention from the EA and Ubisoft events.

E3 From the UK – Watch Dogs Trailer

E3 From the UK – Watch Dogs Trailer

I think Watch Dogs is going to be looked upon in a new light after the whole NSA spying on people scandal came out. Another note, there will be loads of trailers coming out from E3, we can’t keep up with them all, or even half of the news that will come out. As such, we will just pick up the bits that really capture our attention, and Watch Dogs is one of those games. Check out this new trailer after the break, it is all kinds of good.

E3 from the UK – Microsoft’s Conference

E3 from the UK – Microsoft’s Conference

£429 in November. That was the message that I took away from Microsoft’s E3 presentation this evening. I can’t quite comprehend how they are going to justify that launch price, along games which are doubtless going to be a bit more expensive than they are in the current generation. What else grabbed my attention? The lack of any further clarification over the used-game market or online requirements further to what was revealed at the end of last week. I think that was sorely needed to be honest. I’ve got some brief thoughts on their event after the break.

A Game of Dwarves E3 Trailer

A Game of Dwarves E3 Trailer

I think Paradox are winning my ‘Publisher of E3’ award for their constant reveal of lovely little trailer for games which aren’t just the norm. Check this one out for A Game of Dwarves and tell me that doesn’t make you look forward to seeing more of the game. Hopefully we will soon see more of this one.
