E3 from the UK – Microsoft’s Conference

¬£429 in November. That was the message that I took away from Microsoft’s E3 presentation this evening. I can’t quite comprehend how they are going to justify that launch price, along games which are doubtless going to be a bit more expensive than they are in the current generation. What else grabbed my attention? The lack of any further clarification over the used-game market or online requirements further to what was revealed at the end of last week. I think that was sorely needed to be honest. I’ve got some brief thoughts on their event after the break.

My Hopes for the Year Ahead

It is a new year, and with that, we should all have plenty to look forward to, the FA Cup Third Round, Superbowl and Wrestlemania will all take place in the coming weeks and months. While I am certainly looking forward to those events, I have a few hopes for what I will occur in the gaming world over the next twelve months. Kevin is running through his Top 10 Games to look forward to, so my hopes will largely avoid specific games. Apart from my first choice of course.

Football Manager 2013 Revealed – Sounds Great

It should come as no surprise that another edition of Football Manager is going to be coming out before Christmas, and while I really enjoyed last years version, some of the additions for this years version sound very, very good. Studio Director Miles Jacobson introduces them in a press conference style announcement after the break. You should take a look, talk of a Classic mode has certainly caught my attention. New Xbox Won’t Have Disc Drive – Coming 2013 According to MCV Report

MCV is reporting this morning that they have confirmation that the next Xbox will not have a disc drive. Instead, MCV say that “it will offer compatibility with some sort of interchangeable solid-state card storage.” It is also confirmed in the MCV report that the new Xbox will be launched in 2013, though there is no confirmed date for the public reveal, though this years E3 is a possiblity.
