Tomorrow Corporation – An Interview

Tomorrow Corporation – An Interview

A new corporation has emerged, known simply as Tomorrow Corporation it is home to three indie developers getting ready to take over the world. Or make a game, like any corporation really. Kyle Gray (Henry Hatsworth), Kyle Gabler (World of Goo) and Allan Blomquist (World of Goo Wii) are the masterminds behind this operation, here I talk to Kyle Gabler about Tomorrow Corporation:

You’ll Need Paper: Kyle Gabler Drops Some Knowledge

He's a talented programmer, an artist, a musician, AND he's hip? So not fair!

The Global Game Jam is going on this weekend, in 53 locations in 23 countries in 48 hours, as they so eloquently put it. And to kick it all off, and the crazy game making that will result from the whole thing, they’ve got Kyle ‘Annoyingly, brilliantly talented’ Gabler to provide a keynote speech/what to do to not have your quick little game crash and burn. It’s extremely interesting, highly amusing, and demonstrates one of the many reasons why he can make such great games; he really seems to know his shit. I’m sure we’ll have more GGJ news as and when it becomes available, including some of the no doubt batshit crazy games that are going to be made in the next few days. Remember; Tower of Goo was a quick little proof of concept much like what’s going to be made soon. Hopefully we’ll have another indie hit birthed.

Here’s the video:

World of Goo Soundtrack! Squee!

World of Goo Soundtrack! Squee!

Squeeeeeeeee!

I really, really wanted to put ‘You are in a subway. And you are a giant banana.’ as the title for this post, but I feared people wouldn’t pay it the due attention if I merely used one of the best line notes I’ve ever read. Yes, the World of Goo soundtrack is here. Yes, it’s free. Yes, it’s more than we’d hoped for. And yes, it’s bloody amazing. You can download it here. It’s just over 80mb, so while that’s downloading, I’ve written a pseudo review/impressions. They’re going to be fawning, but you already know that, because you’ve played the game, and you know how good the music is.

2D Boy Interview – Part Two

2d-boy-part-2

Well we promised it! We’ve got more 2D Boy interview goodness for you all today [first part here], and though I fully expect you’re all busy eating, opening, and arguing with the grandparents and/or in-laws while drunk on Scotch (or is that just me?), I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading part 2 of our mammoth interview with 2D Boy. The hot topics in this part are DRM and the general Indie gaming scene. Okay, so they’re not very Christmassy, but they’re interesting none-the-less!

2D Boy Interview – Part One

2d-boy-part-1

2D Boy is literally just Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel, these two amazing game developers created the indie hit, World of Goo.

Recently, we here at The Reticule got the chance to pose some questions to Kyle and Ron. Or, to be more accurate, we crushed them under a veritable cavalcade of questions. Now who’s 2D, huh? They were so overwhelmed that they had to flee to Europe at one point to escape the madness. Fortunately they found the time to answer our probing questions, and in this first part of the interview we all talk about the game at the heart of it all, World of Goo.

Please think of this as an early Christmas present.
