LEGO Harry Potter Years: 5-7 – Trailer and brief thoughts

There is a new trailer for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 which you can see above, showing off some of the wizadry action you will find in the game, and that is perfect timing as I have been trying out this title over OnLive, hit the jump for some thoughts.

I’ve just come to the end of my first half-hour with Years 5-7 and I am mighty impressed, the main reason is that I can play this title through OnLive without too many problems, I am playing in windowed mode mind. But compared to my experience of playing DiRT 3 which has so far been plagued by poor performance, this was a wonder. I still have reservations about OnLive, but they can be saved for another article.

The bold faced fact of things though, is that this new Potter game picks up where the previous game was and delivers one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I have had the pleasure of witnessing. The LEGO titles have had their highs and lows, but I believe that the Harry Potter series is by far the best showcase for the format. Years 5-7 starts off in the park with Harry and Dudley, and everything is present and correct, be it hilarious character animation to the most random of objects to destroy and reassemble for the reward of those lovely coins.

I definitely want to play more, even if I do have to play using OnLive.
