Dovetail Games, the team behind Train Simulator and the recent rebirth of Microsoft Flight Simulator on Steam are expanding their relationship with Microsoft. Find out more, after the break.
It was around this time last year that I took my first steps into the Train Simulator franchise with this review. At the end of the Verdict, I said that I had to differentiate it in my mind from most games as it is a pure blood simulator without many of the ‘gamey’ elements that you find in something like European Truck Simulator or Farming Simulator. A year has passed since then, the game has been updated, and I am taking the opportunity to deliver a Verdict on the new version.
It was back in December when the developers of the Train Simulator franchise changed their name to Dovetail Games with some of their reasons for the change highlighted in my interview with John Rissik. Last week (and I’m a bit late on the uptake) the re-branded studio announced their next game, Dovetail Games Fishing.
I brought word the other day that the developers of Train Simulator had undergone a transformation. They were no longer Railsimulator.com focused on the Train Sim franchise as the company had transitioned to become Dovetail Games with a broader simulation remit. You can find more details after the break where I speak to Jon Rissik, VP Brand & Acquisition at Dovetail Games.
The developers of Train Simulator have gone under a rebrand this week. They will no longer be known as Railsimulator.com, they will be going under the guise of Dovetail Games and will be expanding the games they work on.
