The past couple of days has seen a massive media splurge from Ubisoft with new newness for Watch Dogs and a sneak peak look at the new Assassin’s Creed title which will be known as Unity set during the French Revolution. Hit the break to check out the videos.
I first talked about Wargame: Red Dragon at the tail end of February where I bemoaned the fact that the Red Dragon of the title has nothing to do with the Welsh dragon. It still gripes me, but I am somewhat appeased by news that you can pre-order the game now on Steam which will grant you exclusive access to the multiplayer beta which will kick off in the coming days. It might face some competition from Titanfall and Dark Souls II, but sometimes people need an RTS to keep them company.
The follow up to Frozen Synapse has today hit Steam Early Access along with receiving a massive update. Mode 7 Games have had a busy day as they have also released a new trailer for the “simultaneous-turn-based tactical game set around a brutal futuristic sport played by robots” game known as Frozen Endzone.
Somehow, in my preview of 2014 I managed to leave Watch Dogs of the list, though that does show the strength of some of the exciting games coming out this year. Despite it not quite making the list, I am still looking forward to the open-world hackathon from Ubisoft, even more now that is has a release date. The 27th May is that day, and Ubisoft released a new trailer to celebrate the announcement. Check it out below.
Microsoft haven’t been faring as well as they would have hoped with the Xbox One, despite great sales, it hasn’t matched the PlayStation 4 yet. Microsoft are taking matters into their own hands and are finally getting into the console war as they announced a substantial price drop with the machine being cut to £399.99 from the 28th February.
Before you wonder, the Red Dragon of the title to this post has nothing to do with Wales, rather I am talking about Wargame Red Dragon which is the upcoming chapter in what has been a pretty massive RTS series. Red Dragon follows from European Escalation and AirLand Battle by moving the conflict into Asia with an expanded focus on naval warfare and a new dynamic campaign. Can something be called new if it is from four days ago? Seeing as they are new to being posted on The Reticule, I would deem these screenshots of Volume as worth of the ‘New’ headline. Volume is the upcoming title from Mike Bithell who made Head Shot worthy Thomas Was Alone.
A group of powerful voices in the British media industry have come together to launch a game on Android on iOS. The game is called Music Inc and comes from UK Music, the IPO and Aardman animations. It puts you in the shoes of a managerial figure of a fictional band which you must try to guide to success through managing their style and PR through to how they release their music.
Valve clearly aren’t content with the SteamOS and In-Home Streaming as they launched the closed beta of Steam Music earlier this week. To have a chance of gaining access to the Beta, you have to be chosen from the Steam Music Group. Unfortunately I haven’t been enrolled yet, but our friends at ValveTime.net have.
