Mars War Logs – First Chapter Thoughts

Mars War Logs – First Chapter Thoughts

The name of a game is crucial, get it right and you will attract media attention for all the right reasons, get it wrong and it becomes a laughing stock. War Logs isn’t either, but it is ever so slightly amusing. War Diaries would have sounded better for sure.

Eador: Master’s of the Broken World – Early Impressions

Eador: Master’s of the Broken World – Early Impressions

I’ve been squeezing in some time for a grand looking turn-based with RPG-features strategy game. Not a Heroes of Might and Magic game, but Eador: Master’s of the Broken World. I’ll simply refer to it as Eador from now on while I talk about some of my early impressions of this title which came from Steam Greenlight.

Don’t Starve – First Thoughts

Don’t Starve – First Thoughts

I survived 13 days, then I was killed by a bee. I was resurrected and returned to collect my gear…and I was killed by the same damn bee. The game at hand is Don’t Starve, and these are some of my first thoughts of the game.

Company of Heroes 2 – Initial Battle Reports

Company of Heroes 2 – Initial Battle Reports

Wow. This game is going to be fun. As I write I’ve just had to drag myself away from playing another game of Company of Heroes 2 as I know that I will spend my whole day playing it otherwise. The pull of more wintery action is strong. I see bright things ahead for Company of Heroes 2, even just based on a couple of skirmishes battles against the AI. If you’re looking for some RTS action which isn’t full of Zerg, then this follow up to the Western Front set classic might be what you need.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 – The Verdict

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 – The Verdict

It is Masters weekend in Augusta and I am well and truly in the mood for golf. To celebrate, I’ve been trying to get to grips with the latest Tiger Woods title which features a revamped career mode and the chance to wind back the clock and play against some legends of the game. Step through the jump to check out my Verdict.

BioShock infinite – What We Thought

BioShock infinite – What We Thought

BioShock is one of those game series’ that you really must play, you might not like every aspect of the game, but there is always something about them worth having a look at. The latest title is set in Columbia, the city in the clouds. There has been some very valid criticisms of the title, Leigh Alexander’s piece being a must read while I for one really quite enjoyed it despite the issues. After the break you can read the thoughts of a few of us here from The Reticule.

Getting Into The Heart of the Swarm

Getting Into The Heart of the Swarm

My experience of the StarCraft games has long been limited to the early levels of the first game, I don’t think I even got a quater of the way through the campaign. I was always more interested in titles like Red Alert 2 and so the different style of Blizzard’s seminal title didn’t quite grab me. I missed out on the release of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for reasons unknown to me now, but I decided to grow up and take the plunge into the latest part of the StarCraft II journey with the Heart of the Swarm expansion.

Tomb Raider – Early Thoughts

Tomb Raider – Early Thoughts

I’ve played around seven hours of Tomb Raider so far and I feel like I am about a quarter of the way through the game. I might be wrong of course, but all I know is that so far I am really enjoying my time with the franchise reboot. I’ll be back with my Verdict over the weekend, but for now, I have some early thoughts following the break.

Steam Greenlight Spotlight – Rush Bros

Steam Greenlight Spotlight – Rush Bros

There are many games on Steam Greenlight that I really should be playing, more than I have time for, but earlier today I took the time to have a quick blast with a fast-paced platformer which uses the beats of your own music to alter levels as you play. The name of the game?

Rush Bros.

Gazing into the Fire With Little Inferno

Gazing into the Fire With Little Inferno

There is a game coming out next Sunday on PC and the Wii U (in America of course, we don’t get the console until the end of the month) known as Little Inferno. It is from indie development studio Tomorrow Corporation which is made up of Kyle Gabler, Kyle Gray and Allan Blomquist, and more important, it is a little bit brilliant. This isn’t a Verdict though, we might just save that for the Wii U version. Regardless, I have been playing and really enjoying Little Inferno, a gem of a game.
