As of a few weeks ago, I don’t think many of us expected a new RAGE to appear on the horizon. But after a series of leaks, ones that Bethesda soon played up to the max, RAGE 2 was confirmed yesterday, with a full-fat trailer landing today. Hit the break to check it out.
There was a moment in the new (and awesome by the way) Doom which instantly reminded me of Half-Life. The moment came when I entered the core of the Argent Energy Tower, and I was sent back in time to Anomalous Materials in Half-Life. Bear with me, and I will explain all after the break.
Oh my. It’s Doom. This is THE game that cemented my gaming and FPS love, and they’ve released a teaser trailer. It’s less than 3 seconds of footage, half of which are arguably cutscene, but I’m squeeing like a schoolgirl.
Doom 3 might be looking just a little bit dated, even with this enhanced BFG edition. But you should be looking forward to this for eight new levels which comprise ‘The Lost Mission’. This new mission pack might even tie into Doom 4 as indicated by Tim Willits comments to RPS from QuakeCon.
Bethesda, owner of id Software, has announced they will be releasing a compilation of the Doom series to this date for Xbox 360 and PS3. They are calling it Doom 3 BFG Edition. UPDATED.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Wolfenstein 3D, Bethesda have released the game as a free-to-play browser game. Just head here and enjoy some classic FPS action. Coming from iD Software – the creators of the FPS genre as we know it – comes their latest release – RAGE – a game with 20 years of shooting pedigree and some of the most well known figures in the industry working away on it’s innards. No pressure then.
This was originally intended to be a disclaimer at the beginning of my Rage review, but it spiralled out of control and now takes the form of an editorial about journalistic objectivity and the relationship gamers have with developers, thus ends the disclaimer to the disclaimer.
I’m feeling a bit tired, I don’t know whether it is the expo, or that I have just come back from a few drinks down Leicester Square, but I am still looking forward to the last day of the Eurogamer Expo. Read on after the jump for a roundup of Days 2 and 3 of the expo.
I may not be the biggest fan of co-operative gaming, but gosh darn it don’t trailers for co-op moments just look so damn good. Take this one for RAGE, that upcoming beast of a game from iD. It is all action and doesn’t give two shits what anyone thinks about it. Now I just need to conquer my co-op issues so I can enjoy moments like that myself.
