These interactive trailer thingy-mabobs are popular aren’t they? Today Arkane Studios presents an impressively complex and varied video adventure of an early Dishonored level which poses more questions than it answers.
As I mentioned in my EG Expo Day 2 Roundup I managed to get a pretty decent session with Dishonored yesterday, and it was a brilliant experience. After the break is a blow-by-blow report of my hands-on session, enjoy.
What a day it has been, it is now 10 in the evening an I am relatively pooped. I travelled up here to London from Cardiff and checked into my hostel earlier today before spending a few hours down at the Eurogamer Expo in Earl’s Court. It was only a short visit compared to what I hope to achieve over the next few days, but it had some very good moments. Hit the jump for my Day 1 roundup.
The Tales from Dunwall is a three part series of animated shorts which act as prequels to Dishonored by providing a background to the world of Dunwall, the city the dominates the game. The first part, called The Awakening can be viewed after the break. It is a lovely pieces of work with some hand-drawn scenes with a score by Daniel Licht from Dexter and narration by Kick Ass star Chloë Grace Mortez.
The final developer diary for Dishonored has been released and is available for your viewing pleasure after the break. Called ‘End Game’ this dev diary sees Arkane Studios reflect on the journey they have taken with the game. It isn’t as long as some of the others, but it is still worth a watch.

The developer diaries for Dishonored are really intriguing, they are revealling a lot about how the team at Arkane perceive the game and how they think people might play it. In addition, there is a hell of a lot of new game footage which is well worth checking out. The first video is called Immersion and the second one Experience, see them after the jump.
How many times will we talk about Dishonored in some way before release? I would hazard a guess that it will be quite a few more times, especially when we get such amazing insights into the game as seen in the first developer diary entitled Inception. You can watch the video after the jump, it features a number of developers from Arkane talking about difference aspects of the title, and it shows a heap of new in-game footage. Worth a look.
It was always clear that the city of Dunwall is a cesspit of filth and corruption and not a little blood. Until now, screenshots and videos have only scratched the surface with their rats and tired-eyed prostitutes. Here we have some signs of the true madness in the heart of Dishonored, after the jump.
I have long felt that Dishonored is going to be one of the biggest hits of the year, ever since I saw the first pieces of concept art last year I had the feeling it might be something special. Everything I have seen since then has kept me eager to see more and more of the game. I can’t wait to get a chance to play it.
