Far Cry 3 – E3 Teaser

Far Cry 3 – E3 Teaser

I oft find myself decrying the use of announcements of announcements, and teaser trailers for game reveals. They seem so pointless…but then there is this Far Cry 3 trailer designed to build the anticipation for the Ubisoft press conference at E3, a trailer which in itself is brilliant and underlines why I think the game is going to be an all out smash. We are told we will ‘Experience the new reveal’ at E3 next week, I hope it matches the madness on offer in this tease.

The Sims 3 – Jubilee Parody

The Sims 3 – Jubilee Parody

Leaving my personal cynicism aside for this big jubilee malarky going on here in the UK, this Sims 3 parody video from EA is quite amusing, and certainly gave me a chuckle as I retreat from the hellish heat of my garden. This kind of makes me want to play some more Sims, anyone else get that feeling when they see great videos from that game?

Pro Cycling Manager Returns This Summer

With the Giro d’Italia having just come to a finish this past weekend, the cycling world will soon turn its attention to the Tour de France…and the small matter of Pro Cycling Manager 2012 from Blood Bowl and Game of Thrones developers, Cyanide.

Trials Evolution – The Verdict

Trials Evolution – The Verdict

Trials 2: Second Edition was one of the hit PC indie titles of 2008, and still ranks as one of my favourite games of the past few years. When its Xbox Live sequel, Trials HD launched one year later, the series exploded into life with masses of new fans. It should come as no surprise then to realise that the latest game from RedLynx, Trials Evolution is another masterpiece.

Historical Farming Simulator….Out Now

Historical Farming Simulator….Out Now

Rumour has it Diablo 3 and May Payne 3 were released a week ahead of schedule to try and get a headstart against the might of Historical Farming Simulator which came out Friday. In this new take on the farming simulator genre, you get to enjoy the golden days of farming with period equipment that was used between the 1950s and 70s. This must have summer blockbuster lets you play in the Northern Alps or Tuscany and features dynamic, real-time furrows, a first for agricultural simulators. What better way to enjoy this lovely weather than to check out this Game of the Year contender.

Naval War: Arctic Circle – the verdict

Naval War: Arctic Circle – the verdict

Cold, wet, and liable to explode into violence at a moments notice. But that’s enough about Hull. Far north of the tropical climates found in modern gaming, Naval War: Arctic Circle takes the intriguing concept of modern naval warfare and presents a complicated yet accessible simulation, stumbling just short of a fine execution.

Max Payne 3 – The Verdict

Max Payne 3 – The Verdict

Max Payne 3 has been a long time coming, and this caused some concern for me. Given that almost a decade has passed since Max Payne 2, accompanied by a change of development team, I was initially apprehensive as to whether Max’s third outing would hold my attention in the same way as its predecessors. As it turns out, though, I needn’t have worried.

The War Is Over; The Secret World Is Delayed A Little

Today, at around noon UTC, The Secret War came to an end. Over the past couple of months the Facebook-linked ‘social’ game has been teasing players with screenshots, item unlocks and early beta access to The Secret World, Funcom’s upcoming MMO of secret societies and monsters in the modern world. The game itself is pushed back from June 19th to Tuesday 3rd July. That’s a delay of two weeks, maths fans! Funcom explains this is ‘for market reasons’, to put…
