Our Week in Games – Week 6

Our Week in Games – Week 6

This weekend has been dominated by two Armstrong’s, Lance and Neil. The former is embroiled in a doping controversy surrounding his Tour de France victories which makes any drug related puns in Pro Cycling Manager pieces even more glaring. The other was the first human to step foot on the Moon, the only otherworldly body we have walked on. Neil Armstrong is a legend, and the achievements of himself and NASA are still being felt today with the Curiosity rover…

Our Week in Games – Week Five

Gamescom has been and gone, but perhaps the biggest news of the past week broke yesterday with the closure of OnLive. It doesn’t come as much of a surprise to me as I never really got the feeling the service was going to make it by itself, and without the backing of a console manufacturer it was doomed to fail. A new company seems to have been formed, but time will tell what really happens with the cloud gaming service. If that business talk is too much for you on a Sunday afternoon, hit the jump to read about our week in games.

Our Week in Games Week 4

The Olympics is ending today and the football season is about to kick-off once more, I don’t know who is actually looking forward to the football now, it has become relegated so with the Olympics. I have had a busy week full of job applications and have barely looked at my stack of games. The above image is from something Nick has been working on for four years, and with that I will leave the rest of the words for today to the rest of the team.

Our Week In Games – Week Two

Word has reached me here in Cardiff that there is a big sporting event taking place in London right now, but this week none of us here at The Reticule have been playing anything resembling Summer Games. The sportiest things we have been playing are Tiger Woods 13 and DOTA 2. This then is our week in games, enjoy.

Sundays come and go, people tend to take things easy on this day of the week, generally recovering from their Saturday night out or just enjoying their last day of freedom before going back to the grind. Today marks the start of a new weekly feature here at Reticule Towers where we take our serious writing hats off and relax a bit and tell you all a little about what we have been playing this week. I hope you enjoy…

Year in Review

Year in Review

This is a bit of a personal year in review, not just a run down of individual games which have come out this year. We will do something along the lines of a Game of the Year, this isn’t that though. This is a low-down on happenings here on The Reticule over the past year, and some of my personal highlights.

How do you like your reviews?

How do you like your reviews?

I have long pondered the role of review scores, do people like them? If so, do they like scores out of 5 or 10, maybe a rating out of 100? What about An A-F scale, or perhaps something a bit more off the wall like ours?. Or finally, do people not bother with the actual rating and make do with the words of the review? Hit the jump for a poll and more words.
