The Football Manager series is one that suffers a similar fate to FIFA and PES, people will buy the game and soon start moaning that nothing has changed year on year apart from a roster update. I don’t feel like that about Football Manager 2017, I feel generally quite positive about it.
I’ve already looked at the singleplayer component of Battlefield 1, now it is time to take a closer look at the multiplayer action. Read on, for the Verdict.
When EA first announced Battlefield 1, I had concerns over how they were portraying the Great War. I wasn’t the only one who expressed misgivings, and others have put forth their opinion in the past week. But having played through the singleplayer War Stories, I think DICE have paid the events of 1914-1918 the respect they deserve.
A few weeks ago at EGX, I was able to check out Mantis Burn Racing from VooFoo Studios. A top-down arcade racer, it immediately caught my attention on my first day at the show and I’ve been throwing my tiny cars around on the PlayStation 4 since launch. This is my Verdict.
It’s been a few weeks since I delivered my first hands-on impressions of Dovetail Games Flight School, and now the game has been released, it’s about time I delivered a Verdict on it. Before you hit the ‘Read More’ button, please keep in mind that I am approaching this Verdict from the point of view of a casual sim-er.
January 1951, the world is in flames and has been in a state of near constant war and I have dropped more Nuke’s than I would like to admit. I think back to the early months of my adventure with Italy in Hearts of Iron IV, and I can’t help but wonder what might have been if I had made some different choices.
The Banner Saga 2 from Stoic Studios was released in April, and now Chris delivers his Verdict on this artful character driven story that is accompanied by great turn-based battles.
Back in October, I got stuck into the Beta for Rainbow Six: Siege and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a limited range of maps to play through, but I could already tell that this was shaping up to be a very good shooter. Now that I’ve had a chance with the full game, I am happy to confirm that Siege is a very good shooter, but one that needs to find its feet.
I’ve played a lot of Neptune’s Pride; the real-time strategy space-conquering game. It was an intriguing mix of alliances, tactics and downright betrayal played out over a tactical map where you controlled fleets, took-over worlds, and performed research into new techs and weapons. You were pitted against other human players and had to form truces or trade and technological alliances in a bid to come out on top. This often meant backstabbing and as this game was ‘real time’ (a…
Satellite Reign is 5 lives isometric, Squad-based tactical strategy game. Think Syndicate, and you’ll not be far wrong. Except for the differences….. It is set in a world where a giant corporation has developed a cloning technology that effectively eradicates death. They then use this technology to ‘buy’ incredible influence and eventually end up running the world from the shadows. You come in as a rival corporation trying to shake loose their hold. 5 Lives studio deserve some real credit…
Evoland 2 is the successor to the 2013 game Evoland, developed by French studio, Shinro Games. This is my Verdict, read on.
When the friendly PR contact for Paradox Interactive got in touch regarding Magicka 2 I jumped at the chance of getting hold of a review code. On the PS4.
Our trip started so well. With beautiful surroundings, good friends and plenty of beer it looked like being the start of a time to remember. Now, less than two days later my friends are dead, I’m hiding in a cupboard, my leg’s pouring with blood and somewhere nearby there’s a…thing trying to kill me.
There’s no denying it, the stand out attribute of Tormentum: Dark Sorrow is the brilliantly twisted artwork that fills this dark fantasy world with it’s unusual beings, scarred landscapes and hauntingly attractive design. In fact if it wasn’t for the incredible amounts of artwork, Tormentum would lose a lot of its character, however disturbing that character really is!
