Football Manager 2012 has just received its regular January Transfer Update along with a massive 60% discount on Steam, at just £8 this is an essential purchase. Even better, if you already own the game and want to gift it to a friend, that will set you back £4.99. This offer ends Friday at 18:00GMT.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Debut Trailer

Assassin’s Creed 3 Debut Trailer

We all knew the basics of Assassin’s Creed 3 last week, but with this debut trailer we now have some action of the game that is going to be set in 18th Century North America. Assassin’s Creed 3 will put you in the boots of Ratohnaké:ton, an assassin of Native American and English heritage who goes by the easier to pronounce name of Connor.

The fifth main release in the series is going to use the all new Ubisoft-AnvilNext game engine and has twice the production values of any other Ubisoft title.

The game is locked in for release on the 31st of October this year for release on PC, 360 and PS3. A WiiU version is also in development.

Halo 4 ViDoc – Impressive

Halo 4 ViDoc – Impressive

This Halo 4 video documentary has just been made public, and it looks just a bit impressive. This is coming from someone who has only played the original title, and that on the PC. The video was first shown at the Microsoft Spring Showcase held in San Francisco last week and you can find a big lowdown of the Halo 4 presentation on VG24/7.

Bioware Points Discount? – Overdue PC DLC Savings

Bioware Points Discount? – Overdue PC DLC Savings

I’ve been quietly fuming away for the best part of 2 years over the pricing of Mass Effect 2‘s mission DLC. At 2480 of their intentionally obtuse ‘Bioware points’, you’re expected to pay about twice what the 40-hour base game costs itself these days. Which is how DLC typically works, but at least there’s usually a discount for those of us who’re never going to be fanatical enough to cough up that kind of money. Not in the case of…

VG24/7 has a low down on the background to this story, but we don’t have to wait long for official Ubisoft details as they will unveil more on Monday 5th March at 17:00 GMT. (via VG24/7)

‘Faster Than Light’ Given a Kick-Start

‘Faster Than Light’ Given a Kick-Start

Justin Ma and Matthew Davis, creators of the unique space-roguelike Faster Than Light, have become the most recent developers to benefit from the monumentally successful Kickstarter project. After opening to public support yesterday, the developers have already shattered their modest $10,000 dollar target in little over a day, standing at $34,000 dollars at time of writing.

Mass Effect 3 and Sniper Elite V2 Pre-Order Shenanigans

Mass Effect 3 and Sniper Elite V2 Pre-Order Shenanigans

Shenanigans are occurring in the pre-order market today, first up is an Origin only pre-order deal for Mass Effect 3 which is exclusive to the EU where you can get all the pre-order items in one hit for both Digital Deluxe Edition and the Standard Edition. Check out the pre-order page and rejoice in an outlet which will give you all the pre-order bonuses at once, no worrying about what special item you will miss out on. There have been lots of complaints about Origin, but this is a good move.

The second bit of pre-order action is for Sniper Elite V2. In this World War Two sniper love-in, we all know that the ultimate mission would be to kill Hitler, the only trouble? If you want to get the chance to kill Hitler in the game, you are going to have to pre-order it. The press release makes no mention of the mission being made available later to those who don’t pre-order. A decidedly bad move I think.

Thoughts on this pre-order malarky?
