The Reticule at Rezzed

The Reticule at Rezzed

E3 2012 was criticised by many for being bland, overhyped and predictable. None of these adjectives describe Rezzed, a PC and Indie games show set up by Eurogamer and Rock, Paper, Shotgun. This year our very own Jordan Harling attended. Here are some of his highlights.

Pre-E3 Anticipation – Microsoft

Pre-E3 Anticipation – Microsoft

The world’s largest consumer electronics show, E3, will kick off later today, and the biggest games publishers and developers will be eagerly showcasing their wares in an attempt to build up anticipation, excitement and a shed load of hype for the biggest releases set to appear over the next twelve months. I’ve already waxed lyrical (or something) about what I’m most excited about in regards to Sony and Nintendo’s E3 presence, and now ā€“ last and kind of least ā€“…

None of these rumours have yet been confirmed but what Iā€™m sure about is the image in my mind…

Thoughts on Hitman: Sniper Challenge

Thoughts on Hitman: Sniper Challenge

Agent 47 is nearly back in his first fully fledged outing since Blood Money, but if you want to get a small taste of 47 action now you can play Sniper Challenge, the innovative pre-order bonus for Hitman: Absolution. I’ve been playing around with the sniper mini-game, and I am quite impressed with the ideas behind it.

Diablo 3 – My First Hour

Diablo 3 – My First Hour

I got my hands on Diablo 3 earlier today, around 3pm GMT, and unlike many, I installed and got into the game without any problems at all. I was quite surprised at the lack of problems considering the many issues that people were having in the early hours of launch, and are still having tonight according to what I am seeing on Twitter. So, in the peaceful British May afternoon, I got to spend about an hour with Diablo 3,…

Editorial – The Future Of The Console Business

As we get ever closer to possible reveals of the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft at E3 this Summer, musings about the future of the console market are bound to crop up here and there. The first sign of the changes to business of how we pay for consoles emerged yesterday with Microsoft launching a new bundle in the US where you get a 4GB 360 with Kinect for an initial fee of $99, with a two-year…

The Witcher 2 – (Nearly) A Year On

The Witcher 2 – (Nearly) A Year On

The Witcher 2 has been out on the PC for nearly a year now (May 17th 2011 was the release date) and the game has come a long way since the initial release with big updates coming in September last year with the 2.0 release and last week the Enhanced Edition was released at the same time as the very well received Xbox 360 version. When I originally played The Witcher 2 at release last year, I was impressed by what the game was attempting, but I was left aghast at the difficulty of the Prologue and a poor hints and tips system which left me unsure how to use traps and bombs and little understanding of the different spells Geralt can cast. Nearly a year on and my experience of the first few hours is now much more enjoyable. Early game spoilers after the jump.
