Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – The Verdict

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – The Verdict

Diablo III was a game which I fell in love with in the beginning, I blasted through in decent fashion until I reached the gates of the High Heaven’s in Chapter IV and then I just kind of stopped playing. It was the promise of the Reaper of Souls expansion, the major patch which introduced loot 2.0 and the need to play something other than Football Manager that got me playing the game again. And so, after defeating the all-evil Diablo and starting out again in Act I with my Demon Hunter, I waited for Reaper of Souls to land. Once it arrived, I got on with the job of completing Act V and exploring the new location of Westmarch.

Our Week in Games – Week 78

I was saved from scrambling to come up with an introduction with the announcement of Civilization: Beyond Earth which is coming this ‘Fall’ according to the American terminology. The spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri, perhaps the most highly praised 4X game is sure to attract a lot of attention before release, and fortunately PC Gamer have a massive interview with the team covering factions, the planet and more. Well worth a read while the first trailer can be found after the break along with our team’s contributions for Our Week in Games.

Editor’s Blog – Where have the BIG moments gone?

This past weekend was WrestleMania, the grandaddy of them all, the showcase of the immortals and an event which had a few BIG moments and (spoiler alert), the biggest of all was the moment Brock Lesnar pinned The Undertaker, a legend who had been previously undefeated in 21 WrestleMania matches.

It was a shocking moment, it left me gob-smacked and the arena in New Orleans dumbfounded. Where are those moments in games these days?

Our Week in Games – Week 77

Our Week in Games – Week 77

I don’t know what has been going on in the gaming world this month really, I honestly don’t know where the time has gone. It seems like only yesterday that I was travelling back from Progress Wrestling in Camden Town, yet in reality a whole week has gone by.

If there is one thing that caught my eye, it was the unveiling of the Football Manager Classic 2014 bundle for the Vita. I sold my Vita last year to ex-Reticule writer Mark Reece, but now I feel like I made a foolhardy decision. Regardless, on with Our Week in Games.

The Indie Gaming Roundup – Death in Cadlewood, Warside and Divinity: Original Sin

I don’t know where the time has got to this week, it is already Friday and I realise that I’ve entirely neglected to write about some fairly cool indie game news that has appeared in the past few days. This isn’t quite a Crowdfunding Weekly, even though one game has just landed itself on Kickstarter, rather a just a quick rundown on a handful of indie games of all flavours. Hit the break for word on Death in Candlewood, Warside and Divinity: Original Sin.
